Job 2: Safety Engineer (Process & Construction)
Location: Staffanstorp, Sweden
Job Type: Full-time, Fixed-term project assignment (Option for permanent conversion) Expected Start Date: Apr-26, immediate
Duration: Installation through Commissioning & Start-Up, 8 months to 12 months
Role Overview
Safety isn't a department; it's a culture. We need a site-present Safety Engineer to embed a zero-incident mindset into one of Sweden’s most significant new manufacturing investments. You will be the technical authority ensuring compliance with Swedish and EU law during a high-pressure installation and commissioning phase.
What You Will Do
Project Safety Management: Own and implement the Project Safety Management Plan (PSMP) and track all safety KPIs.
Risk Leadership: Facilitate HAZID and HAZOP sessions and conduct JSAs for high-energy installation operations.
Regulatory Authority: Ensure 100% compliance with Arbetsmiljöverket (Swedish Work Environment Authority) and EU Directives (ATEX, Machinery Directive, PED).
Site Presence: Conduct daily inspections, lead safety inductions, and manage the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system (Hot work, LOTO, Confined Space).
The PSSR Gate: Partner with the Commissioning Engineer to lead the Pre-Start-Up Safety Review process.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental).
Experience: 5+ years of SHE engineering in food manufacturing or process industries (pharmaceutical, chemical, etc.).
Legal Knowledge: Deep understanding of Swedish occupational health and safety legislation is non-negotiable.
Languages: Professional working proficiency in both Swedish and English is required.
Certification: NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent is highly preferred.
