The institute comprises five different departments: Clinical Neuroscience, Health and Rehabilitation, Pharmacology, Physiology and Psychiatry and Neurochemistry.
The Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology, invites applications for a Researcher employment at the Department of Psychiatry and Neurochemistry.
The research group led by Erik Smedler works within the field of molecular psychiatry. We aim to understand the origins of severe mental illness using stem cell-based models of neural development.
Duties
Research activities in molecular psychiatry, including leading an independent research project and taking a senior role within the research group with responsibility for supervising students.
Qualifications
A doctoral degree in a relevant field with multiple peer-reviewed scientific publications is required. Substantial experience in cell and molecular biology is also essential, including gene editing using CRISPR and neural differentiation of stem cells.
Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
Employment
The employment is limited (temporary) for 11 months, 100% of full-time, and is placed at the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology. Starting date: as soon as possible or as agreed.
