Are you a developer with a strong passion for building high-quality, testable software? We are looking for aSenior Quality Engineer with a solid software development backgroundto join our team responsible for managing equipment through an online service.This is ahybrid rolethat requiresworking from our office in Tumba (Stockholm) at least 3 days per week.Your primary focus will be combininghands-on software developmentwithadvanced testing practices, ensuring that quality is built into the product from design to production.Role and responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain testable, reliable and maintainable backend features as an active part of the development team.
- Write production-level code to support automated testing, test frameworks, and developer tooling.
- Create and manage test data across multiple environments to support reliable and repeatable testing.
- Design and execute tests at multiple levels, including unit, integration, API, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Build and evolve test automation frameworks and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Improve and maintain quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting to give transparency into software health.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and architects to define quality and testability requirements early in the design phase.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role we believe that you have:
- Valid work permit in Sweden or Swedish citizenship (mandatory).
- 5+ years of experience in software development, test automation, or a combination of both.
- Proven experience as a software developer (minimum 2 years), preferably working with backend systems and APIs.
- Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, Java, or similar languages.
- Experience building and maintaining automated tests across multiple layers (unit, integration, system, E2E).
- Deep understanding of test design, test data management, and environment management.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and test integration.
- Strong skills in requirement analysis, system design thinking, and end-to-end quality ownership.
- Experience working in agile development environments (Scrum, Kanban).
Bonus Skills (optional):
- Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (such as cloudformation templates, CDK, terraform)
- Knowledge of security testing practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent.

Additional information
This is a full-time permanent position based at DeLaval's headquarters in Tumba, south of Stockholm. We offer a hybrid workplace model, allowing flexibility to work remotely; however, employees are expected to be in the office at least three days per week.
