Role Summary
To secure TRATON's profitability today and in the future, Group Product Cost Controlling plays a vital role in driving cost transparency, efficiency and long-term competitiveness. As a Product Cost Controller, you will support product development and strategic decision-making across the TRATON brands by calculating, challenging and monitoring product costs for current and upcoming products. This is a full-time, permanent position within TRATON Group Product Cost Controlling, based in Södertälje, Sweden, working closely with Scania, MAN, International and Volkswagen Truck & Bus (VWTB).
Job Responsibilities
As part of the Group Product Cost Controlling team, you will work cross-functionally with TRATON AB, local R&D entities, and brand controllers. Together, you will ensure accurate product cost ambitions, analyses and follow-up throughout the product lifecycle.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Deriving top-down product cost targets at an early stage of product development, based on market perspectives and strategic ambitions.
- Leading and participating in cross-functional discussions and workshops to identify and implement cost-optimization measures.
- Performing product cost calculations throughout the product lifecycle and consolidating results into comprehensive cost views for all brands.
- Presenting insights and recommendations to cross-functional committees and stakeholders.
- Tracking and monitoring product costs over time, including deviation analysis and change management activities.
- Maintaining frequent contact with all TRATON brands to ensure alignment, transparency, and a strong Group perspective.
Who You Are
You have a strong analytical mindset and a passion for understanding the technical and business aspects of product development. You combine structured problem-solving with effective communication and enjoy working in a fast-moving, international environment.
We believe you have:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in industrial engineering, business administration, or a related field, with a strong interest in technical topics.
- 3-5 years of experience in product cost controlling for hardware products or related areas such as purchasing, R&D, project management, or strategy.
- A high sense of quality, responsibility and attention to detail.
- The ability to present complex information in a clear and understandable way.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with counterparts across different teams and countries.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken; fluency in Swedish or German is a strong plus.
