The Institute of Clinical Sciences invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher at the department of Surgery. The Department of Surgery conducts translational and clinical research in, among other areas, cancer and has a laboratory at both Sahlgrenska University Hospital Östra and associated to Sahlgrenska Center for Cancer Research (SSCR) on Medicinaregatan. The project will be performed in a research group at SSC that consists of preclinical researchers, surgeons and oncologists and carries out translational and clinical research.

Subject area

Cancer Immunotherapy

Subject area description

Immunotherapy has revolutionized the treatment of certain cancers such as melanoma, lung cancer, and hematologic malignancies. However, many patients do not respond adequately to immune checkpoint inhibition or T-cell therapy. RNA therapy is a growing research field that uses RNA as a drug or vaccine. In the upcoming project, the postdoc will develop new RNA therapies that can enhance immunotherapy for hard-to-treat cancers such as uveal melanoma and pancreatic cancer. The research group has access to a world-unique humanized mouse model that can predict treatment responses in patients.
