Hiring: Payroll Specialist

I'm Anne-Line Janzon, Manager of the Global Cross-Country Payroll Team, and I'm searching for someone ready to grow with us. Telia Company is the leading telecom services provider in the Nordic and Baltic region, passionate about technology and connectivity. Our Payroll team is currently embarking on an exciting, large-scale transformation to build a unified global payroll system. We work closely with HR IT, local HR, HR People Ops, and Finance to move away from cumbersome, manual tasks toward automated, self-leading services.

We are seeking a proactive, self-driven expert in the intersection of Time & Absence and Payroll, with a strong interest in change management. This role offers a unique opportunity to act as a "builder" rather than just a maintainer, serving as a key player in our global payroll transformation project for the next couple of years while also working with the team on payroll management.

What you'll do:

You will report to the Manager of the Global Cross-Country Payroll Team and work on both recurring operational tasks and strategic transformation assignments. You will collaborate closely with the local Swedish team, HR IT, Finance, and HR People Ops.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Act as a key contributor in the global payroll transformation project, to ensure seamless, automated, and future proof HR & payroll processes.
  

• Act as a subject-matter expert in Time & Absence configurations with payroll impact, including Swedish union agreements.
  

• Provide guidance to employees and managers on complex time & absence and payroll related topics
  

• Work with the team on operational tasks across the yearly payroll cycle, while helping streamline and automate recurring and year-end processes.
  

• Ensuring all internal norms and procedures comply strictly with labor and social security legislation, applying your deep knowledge of Swedish union agreements.
  

What will help you thrive in this role:

• At least 5 years of experience at an expert level as a Payroll Specialist within a global company.
  

• Deep expertise in Swedish payroll rules, legislation, and a very strong understanding of Swedish union agreements.
  

• Experience with integration-based HR/Payroll models; Workday experience is a strong advantage, but understanding how an integration-based model works is the most critical requirement.
  

• A proactive, change-management mindset - you are a builder who thrives on challenging the status quo and optimizing resources.
  

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to meet shared objectives .
