Job Description

As a Flow Business Development Manager (BDM), you will drive sustainable growth across the Nordics by identifying and advancing new customer opportunities within Emerson's flow solutions portfolio (Coriolis, Mag & Vortex, DP flow and USM). Working closely with account managers and cross-functional teams, you engage stakeholders, understand customer challenges, and develop value-based solutions. You will independently lead opportunities from early discovery to order placement. This is a high-impact role influencing customers, market position, and regional growth. The role should be based within reach of an international airport to support Nordic travel.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and pursue new business opportunities for assigned flow products, independently and with account managers.

Engage customer specialists and decision-makers to understand needs and present Emerson's value.

Lead technical and commercial discussions through meetings, workshops, and presentations.

Plan and deliver product demonstrations, trials, and validation activities to support qualification.

Own opportunities from first contact to purchase order, ensuring progress and alignment.

Support account development by enabling repeatable sales through shared knowledge and tools.

Monitor market trends and competition to identify opportunities and strengthen positioning.

Capture customer feedback to improve products and strategies.

Maintain accurate CRM records and reporting.

Who You Are

You build strong relationships and focus on long-term customer value. You collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, and connect technical insight with business impact. You take ownership, navigate complexity confidently, and adapt to achieve goals.

Requirements

Proven ability to identify and develop opportunities using consultative, value-based sales.

Confidence working with both technical experts and business decision-makers.

Experience with demonstrations, trials, or validation processes.

Strong opportunity management and ability to drive deals to closure.

Experience using CRM tools for pipeline and reporting.

Collaborative mindset across teams in the Nordics.

Fluent English (written and spoken).

Additional Nordic language skills are an advantage.

Willingness to travel within the Nordics.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with flow measurement, instrumentation, control, or automation.

Familiarity with customer qualification and vendor approval processes.

Track record of enabling scalable growth through tools like value cases or solution packages.

Knowledge of Nordic industries (energy, utilities, marine, food & beverage, chemicals, life sciences, pulp & paper, manufacturing).

Experience collaborating with engineering, product, or service teams.
