Your role and responsibilities
Do you want to contribute to the latest robotics technologies used by some of the world's leading automotive manufacturers? Would you like to be part of ABB Robotics' Motion Control team and help shape the next generation of robot control systems? If you are passionate about software development and advanced technology, this could be the opportunity for you.
As a Motion Control Software Developer, you will be part of a globalLean-Agile development teamworking with advanced motion control functionality for ABB Robotics' next-generation control systems.
In this role, you will:
- Design, implement, and maintain software features within the Motion Control area
- Contribute to the development of state-of-the-art motion control solutions, from concept to verification
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical and electronics engineering teams
- Participate in the full development lifecycle, from customer requirements to testing and validation
- Work hands-on in our laboratories and, occasionally, at customer sites worldwide
As you grow into the role, you will gain deep knowledge of ABB's control systems and play a key part in taking our motion control solutions to the next level.
Qualifications for the role
- Master's degree in Engineering, preferably within Automatic Control, Mechatronics, or equivalent
- Strong software development skills in C/C++
- Experience using MATLAB or similar tools for mathematical modeling, simulation, and analysis
- Experience with real-time systems and/or industrial robots is considered a strong advantage
- A structured and analytical mindset, with the ability to organize and prioritize effectively
- Customer-focused attitude, with strong collaboration and communication skills
- Fluency in English, written and spoken
