Job Overview

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design & CAD/PDM Specialist to support a global transformation initiative. This program is focused on standardizing CAD and PDM tools, aligning engineering processes, and establishing a unified way of working across multiple business streams.

This is a specialized consulting role with emphasis on systems, processes, and product data management rather than traditional mechanical design execution. The selected candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), contributing to the successful implementation and adoption of PTC Creo, Autodesk Inventor, and PTC Windchill.

Key Responsibilities

CAD, PDM & Engineering Expertise

Serve as a primary expert and advisor for CAD and PDM tools, specifically Creo, Inventor, and Windchill.

Provide expert guidance to product structure initiatives, including modular design strategies, metadata frameworks, and template standardization.

Support the alignment and integration of CAD, PDM, and PLM processes across diverse business units.

Collaborate with IT and solution teams to ensure Windchill configurations are tailored to business requirements rather than standard deployments.

Process Development & Ways of Working

Contribute to defining and refining engineering workflows, lifecycle models, and user scenarios.

Recommend and implement best practices for design processes and product data governance.

Act as a bridge between engineering teams and system implementation stakeholders to ensure seamless process adoption.

Training & Change Enablement

Assist in developing structured training materials related to CAD and PDM systems.

Actively support rollout phases by guiding users and promoting tool adoption.

Encourage a positive transformation mindset and facilitate smooth change management across teams.

Required Skills

Technical Skills

Advanced hands-on experience with PTC Creo

Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor

Proven expertise in PTC Windchill (user, super user, or specialist level)

Solid understanding of product structures, design methodologies, and configuration/data management

Experience with CAD/PDM templates, workflow definitions, and configuration management

Professional Skills

Ability to operate independently within structured transformation programs

Strong collaboration skills in cross-functional and global environments

Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Analytical, solution-oriented mindset with adaptability to change initiatives

Strong interest in digital engineering systems and process optimization

Preferred / Additional Skills

Prior experience in CAD/PDM or PLM transformation programs

Background as a super user, specialist, or tool expert

Exposure to large-scale or global engineering organizations

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

Experience Required

Extensive experience in mechanical design and CAD/PDM environments at a senior level

Job Mode: Hybrid (40% Remote - up to 2 days/week post-onboarding)
