About this opportunity:

Join our Master Thesis Scholar program at Ericsson Research, Kista. At Ericsson Research, you'll have an outstanding opportunity to use your skills and imagination to push the boundaries of what's possible. You'll be challenged, but you won't be alone. We are looking for a master thesis student to join our team during spring 2026, at Ericsson Research in Kista. The student will explore 6G related research topics currently being explored at Ericsson Research, from theoretical aspects to practical work involving the implementation and assessment of new ideas. The focus will be on machine learning, e.g. reinforcement learning, and its application to telecommunications, such in the field of cell shaping and resource allocation, with the aim to improve the efficiency and performance of the networks of the future.

What you will do:

• Contribute to design and development of a variety of concepts, tools, evaluations, demos, and testbeds with the aim of producing reproducible results that are of international publication quality.

The skills you will bring:

• Strong analytical skills
• Machine learning skills (reinforcement learning is a plus)
• Problem solving
• Programming, e.g., in Python, C++ or others
• Information searching
• Curiosity and drive for learning
• Excellent communication skills in English
• You are a highly motivated and self-driven last year MSc student in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent MSc program.
