IT GOVERNANCE MANAGER
The IT Governance Manager ensures that IT operates in alignment with business objectives, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
This role is responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining the IT governance framework, overseeing compliance and risk management processes, and supporting strategic decision-making within the IT organization.
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Design, implement, and continuously enhance the IT Governance Framework (based on COBIT, ITIL, ISO 38500, or equivalent standards).
- Define, review, and maintain IT policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with business and compliance needs.
- Oversee IT compliance with internal controls, data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR), and international standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOX).
- Manage IT risk assessment and control processes, proactively identifying weaknesses and recommending remediation actions.
- Support internal and external IT audits, ensuring effective follow-up and closure of audit findings.
- Define, monitor, and report key IT performance indicators (KPIs, SLAs) using BI tools (e.g., Qlik, Power BI, or equivalent) to enable data-driven decision making.
- Collaborate with IT Business Solutions and Digital, IT Security, and IT Operations to ensure consistency across governance, projects, and service delivery.
- Utilize ServiceNow (or similar platforms) to manage IT processes, monitor controls, and automate governance workflows.
- Apply Java and technical knowledge to understand underlying IT systems and support technical governance initiatives when required.
- Support strategic IT planning and prioritization, ensuring governance alignment with business goals and compliance frameworks.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and proactive risk management within the IT organization.
Qualifications
WHAT'S NEEDED FOR YOU TO THRIVE
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Governance, IT Management, or Compliance-related roles.
- Strong knowledge of IT frameworks and standards (COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001/38500, NIST).
- Experience in audit, IT risk management, and control frameworks.
- Practical experience with ServiceNow (especially governance, risk, and compliance modules).
- Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools, such as Qlik, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Proven ability to proactively identify issues and propose remediation actions with a structured, problem-solving approach.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Strategic mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to balance control and agility.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills across functional areas.
- Commitment to fostering governance as an enabler of value creation, not just compliance.
Preferred qualifications
- Professional certifications such as COBIT, ITIL, CGEIT, CRISC, or CISA.
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., finance, insurance, utilities, or pharmaceuticals).
- Familiarity with IT portfolio management tools and governance dashboards.
