Job Description

As an AI and Operations Innovation Intern, you will contribute to improving how we work in Operations by exploring AI-powered solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce manual work. You will collaborate with Operations teams to prepare data, design AI agents, and support users in learning about agent-assisted workflows. This internship offers hands-on experience and the opportunity to learn how AI can drive operational improvements in a global organization.

Your responsibilities will include

• Develop and test AI agents on our agent-building platform.

• Support data preparation and analysis for AI models.

• Document findings and share insights with the team.

• Help users understand AI use and support them when AI is not applicable.

Who you are

You are a master's student in your fourth or fifth year in any of the following programs (or related): Computer Science, Industrial Engineering with specialized track in Data technique, Machine Learning or Supply Chain, Technical Physics or Technical Mathematics. More than your academic background, we are interested in how you approach and solve problems. We're looking for a native AI builder who likes to prototype and build with curiosity, clarity and drive. You're helpful, supportive, and someone who wants to understand the "why" before deciding on the "how." If you have been building AI agents in your free time and want to strengthen these skills in the real world in an Operations context, this role might be for you.

You'll fit in well if you

• Like to share knowledge and help others

We'd love to hear that you have

• Database and programming experience (Python, SQL)

• AI/ML and LLM stack skills: APIs, RAG

Bonus if you have also worked with

• LibreChat or similar

• DBT or similar

• VS Code or PyCharm

• QlikSense/PBI or similar BI tool

Who is your future team?

Operations is the part of Axis' organization that is responsible for the supply and distribution of our products. We are also the link between Axis R&D and our global market, working with industrialization of new products. This includes e.g., Purchasing, Order Handling, Production, Sourcing, Production Preparation, Sales & Operations Planning, Quality & Environment, and Logistics.

Today we are over 500 people working within Operations. Based in Lund, we interact with other Axis departments and a worldwide network of customers, distributors, suppliers, manufacturing partners, and our configuration and logistics centers.

In this role, you are part of the Innovation Lab in our Operations Development organization, working closely with an Innovation Lead and AI/ML Engineer. Like other colleagues in Operations Development, you will also collaborate regularly with functional teams in Operations and our IT organization.
