We are looking for an Automotive Designer focused on interior design and/or interior seating design. You will take concepts from early sketches through concept modeling in Alias or clay, and into A-class surfacing. The role requires close collaboration with Color and Trim, suppliers, and prototype fabrication to deliver the best possible product while staying true to the design vision.

Responsibilities

Take a design from sketch phase to concept modeling in Alias or clay, and through to A-class surfacing

Collaborate with the Color and Trim team to align designs with the color and trim vision and its constraints, creating a unified design direction

Work with suppliers to achieve the best possible product in craftsmanship, cost, and engineering, while staying close to the design intent

Collaborate with the fabrication team to complete prototypes when required

In daily work, report to the Chief Designer and/or Department Director

Qualifications

University degree in Transportation Design or Industrial/Product Design

Junior profile, or up to 3 to 5 years of experience in automotive interior design, OEM experience preferred

Strong Blender modeling and rendering skills are required

Strong sketching ability and excellent concept visualization skills

English, spoken and written

Tools and skills

Strong skills using industry-leading 3D tools such as Blender, Maya, Houdini, Alias, Gravity Sketch, Grasshopper, Keyshot

Experience leading and communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale within a user-centered design process

Strong verbal and visual presentation skills

Personal attributes

Independent and confident, while also a strong team player

Structured, methodical, analytical, with good planning skills and the ability to interpret requirements from senior management

Highly motivated, flexible, and able to deliver under time constraints
