Your Mission

As Head of Communications, you will be a strategic enabler for Scania's business transformation-and a catalyst for execution excellence. Your role is to define what makes Scania unique and ensure that our story is consistently and compellingly conveyed-internally and externally. But beyond storytelling, you will focus on delivering tangible outcomes: activating customer demand, inspiring our people, and building long-term brand equity while driving short-term business results. You will lead with clarity, efficiency, and precision-making sure every communication effort connects to our targets and accelerates Scania's transformation.

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Communication will be reporting directly to the Executive Vice President Head of Strategy and Communications, and will be responsible for leading the development and execution of an integrated brand, marketing and communications strategy.

• Drive alignment across central and local teams, guaranteeing one Scania voice across all markets and touchpoints while optimizing processes for speed and efficiency.
• Balance long-term brand building with short-term sales activation, applying proven marketing science and ensuring that every initiative is linked to business targets.
• Establish and nurture a shared narrative that guides our people through transformation and strengthens our culture, with a focus on clarity and actionable communication, while also overseeing our public and media relations to ensure a consistent and influential external presence.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, People and Culture, R&D, and other departments to ensure communication is not only a catalyst for change but also executed with precision and accountability.
• Oversee governance structures and integrated planning, driving operational excellence, resource efficiency, and continuous improvement in all communication efforts.
• Monitor and report on performance, ensuring transparency, data-driven decisions, and timely adjustments to maximize effectiveness, being a change ambassador
• Managing expectations of both internal and external stakeholders, prioritizing based on strategy, budget, and future needs.

What we are looking for

• A strategic thinker with a proven track record in brand, marketing, and communication leadership-preferably in a premium B2B or B2C environment.
• Strong execution skills with the ability to translate strategy into measurable Results.
• Experience leading transformation and building cross-functional alignment.
• Deep understanding of integrated marketing principles and customer-centric storytelling.
• Ability to challenge old ways of working and adjust to fast-changing environment
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to inspire teams and drive change.
• Fluent in English; Swedish is a plus.
