Role OverviewWe are seeking a Forward Deployment Engineer (FDE) who combines strong hands‑on AI engineering capability with the ability to engage senior clients and sales teams strategically.
This role sits at the intersection of AI technology, sales, and delivery, and is critical to accelerating AI deal conversion by bringing technical credibility, solution feasibility, and rapid prototyping early in the sales cycle.
The FDE will work alongside AI Advisory consultants, sales leaders, and delivery teams to translate business problems into realistic, differentiated AI solutions, helping clients move from AI ambition to qualified opportunity faster.
Key Responsibilities
1. AI‑Led Pre‑Sales & Sales Enablement
Act as the technical face of AI in sales and GTM conversations, supporting account teams in early‑stage pursuits
Partner with sales leaders to shape AI solution narratives, architecture options, and feasibility assessments
Provide real‑time technical validation during client discussions (GenAI patterns, data readiness, architecture choices, risks)
Support qualification of AI opportunities by separating what is aspirational vs. what is buildable
2. Forward Deployment & Rapid Prototyping
Build lightweight prototypes, PoCs, demos, and reference architectures to support sales cycles
Translate client use cases into working AI workflows (e.g., LLMs, agents, RAG, analytics pipelines)
Demonstrate "day‑1 value" through quick deployments that increase client confidence and deal momentum
Support solution handover from pre‑sales to delivery with clear technical documentation and context
3. Strategic Solutioning & Architecture
Design end‑to‑end AI solution architectures covering:
GenAI / LLMs / Agentic AI
Data platforms (cloud, lakehouse, streaming)
MLOps / LLMOps
Security, governance, and Responsible AI considerations
Work with AI Advisory consultants to align business value, ROI, and operating model with the proposed solution
Influence solution strategy to ensure scalability, cost efficiency, and enterprise readiness
4. Collaboration with Delivery & Advisory Teams
Act as a bridge between sales and delivery, reducing dependency on billable delivery consultants during pre‑sales
Support delivery teams with technical context, assumptions, and design intent post‑deal
Help create reusable AI assets, accelerators, and reference demos to improve win rates across pursuits
5. Market & Thought Leadership Support
Stay current on AI platforms, GenAI trends, and enterprise adoption patterns
Contribute to AI offerings, GTM assets, demos, and solution playbooks
Support executive‑level storytelling on "Art of the Possible" vs. "Path to Value"
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
Strong hands‑on experience in AI / ML / GenAI engineering
Practical experience with:
LLMs, RAG, agents, prompt engineering
Python, APIs, cloud AI services (Azure / AWS / GCP)
Data engineering and analytics pipelines
Solid understanding of AI architecture, scalability, and production constraints
Sales & Consulting Mindset
Proven experience working in pre‑sales, solution engineering, or client‑facing technical roles
Ability to explain complex AI concepts to non‑technical stakeholders clearly and credibly
Comfortable engaging with senior client stakeholders, sales leaders, and advisory consultants
Strong problem‑framing skills and commercial awareness
Preferred Experience
Background in Forward Deployment Engineering, Solution Architecture, or AI Consulting
Experience supporting enterprise AI deals across BFSI, Utilities, Consumer, or Industrial sectors
Exposure to Responsible AI, governance, and compliance‑driven environments
