Firmware Engineer - Gothenburg

Are you passionate about driving innovation in global industry with cutting-edge laser measurement technology? Join LIMAB and become part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to developing state-of-the-art, non-contact measurement systems trusted by leading companies worldwide.

We're seeking an enthusiastic Firmware Engineer who will play a key role in driving our sensor technology forward and strengthening our long-term innovation capability.

About the Position

As a Firmware Engineer at LIMAB, you will play a highly influential role in shaping the strategy, development, and performance of our laser sensor portfolio. Your primary responsibility will be firmware and algorithm development for real time laser triangulation, ensuring high performance, stability, and accuracy in our systems.

Beyond firmware, you will also work hands on with electronics and collaborate closely with suppliers and internal teams to secure robust hardware-software integration. This is a role where your technical expertise directly shapes the functionality, quality, and future evolution of our sensor technologies.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, your main focus is on developing, optimizing, and maintaining firmware for LIMAB's laser sensors. You will define technical requirements, set architecture and specifications, and ensure high quality implementation for sensors and components.

Develop and maintain algorithms for laser triangulation and real time data acquisition

Manage signal processing, sensor calibration, and performance optimization

Interface with FPGA, MCUs, electronics, and PCB designs

Conduct system testing, validation, and documentation of firmware architecture and algorithms

Opportunity to grow into adjacent areas such as software, mechatronics, or vision related firmware development depending on your interest and skillset

What does Henrik Olsson, Product Development Manager, have to say about the company?

"LIMAB AB is a close-knit company where every employee is valued and well-being is a priority. We are open-minded and maintain a warm working environment characterized by trust, personal responsibility, and freedom. The organization is supportive and collaborative, creating a sense of security and positive workdays.

It is above all the colleagues who make it enjoyable to come to work. In addition, there are strong technical opportunities and a shared ambition to develop ourselves and create added value. There is room for everyone here, but to truly thrive, you should be willing to take responsibility and not hesitate to ask for support when needed."

Your Profile

We are looking for an experienced engineer with strong technical depth and passion for firmware development and sensor technology. You thrive in an innovative environment, enjoy working with complex systems, and take initiative in developing both your field and our products.

You are someone who approaches tasks analytically, stays motivated, and prefers a structured work style. Clear communication and effective collaboration with colleagues from different fields come naturally to you. You enjoy taking on technically demanding work in environments that offer both autonomy and responsibility. Working internationally, making quick decisions, and being part of a team-oriented culture help you thrive.
