About the role

The position is part of our Methods Development team in Kristinehamn. Here, you will be part of a product-focused organization within the marine industry, working with future propulsion systems. You will develop and enhance our internal software framework PropCalc, a tool used throughout the entire chain from sales to design and engineering.

The role involves close collaboration with engineers from various disciplines, where you contribute to the development of CAE tools that support technical decision-making, streamline workflows, and make our solutions even more user-friendly. You'll also have the opportunity to initiate development projects, such as applying AI and experimenting with machine learning in our tools and processes, as well as in simulations and data analysis.

The position is based at the Kongsberg Hydrodynamic Research Centre in Kristinehamn.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain PropCalc and its sub-modules.

Build new functionality and improve existing tools based on business needs.

Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to develop CAE tools.

Contribute to efficiency, quality, and performance in Kongsberg's products.

Participate in an international development team where knowledge sharing and continuous improvement are part of the culture.

Drive and participate in internal development projects.

About You

We are looking for someone with an engineering degree or equivalent, with a strong technical background and a keen interest in software development. You combine an understanding of complex systems with the ability to translate this knowledge into practical software solutions. Requirements

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a

related technical field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

Strong programming skills, preferably in C++.

Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Ability to work in cross-functional teams in an international environment.

Meritorious

Experience in full-stack development.

Strong technical interest in our products.

Knowledge of AI/ML, e.g., development of custom models and training pipelines.
