Are you a leader passionate about innovation and empowering teams? We're seeking an Engineering Manager to lead Core Technologies Analytics Data at our HQ in Lund.

Your future team

Core Technologies within Axis R&D is an organization that drives, innovates, and provides key technologies to Axis future products and solutions. A fast-growing area is analytics where Core Technologies Analytics is responsible for bringing forward the latest AI algorithms, features and functionality towards a multitude of receivers from our own ASICs, camera products as well as Axis' analytics solutions in VMS or cloud. This area continues to grow, and we are therefore looking for an Engineering Manager for the newly formed Core Technologies Analytics Data team. This team will work closely with the other three Core Technologies Analytics teams, but with main focus on the datasets and models that we use as foundation for our AI algorithm development. You will lead a team where everyone cares and is really dedicated to the tasks, with a range from newly graduated to senior engineers.

This team will:

• Stay updated on AI training datasets, evaluate their suitability for Axis' needs, and systematically integrate them into our environment.
• Develop synthetic datasets, e.g. via gaming engines, that complements sourced datasets and adds value to Axis' AI models.
• Stay updated on AI models, evaluate their suitability for our needs, finetune them, and systematically integrate them into our environment. Also develop in-house AI models that adds value to Axis' use-cases and needs.
• Evolve our datasets and models and further finetune them for Axis' use-cases and solutions.
• Evolve our training pipeline, and in tight collaboration with Axis IT manage and evolve the GPU cluster used for AI model training.
• In tight collaboration with Axis Legal and Axis Contract Management guarantee compliance with applicable laws, regulations, ethics and standards.
• Provide expertise and guidance to the fellow analytics teams, to Axis Products and Solutions organizations, to Axis Legal and Marketing organizations, to Axis management, etc.

What you will do

As for all managers at Core Technologies, you will own and drive the long- and short-term agendas for your team, from strategies to daily planning. You will work close to your employees assuring they can reach their utmost potential. You will develop your team, its responsibilities, your ways of working, the network where your team needs presence. And you will of course perform standard management tasks like recruitment, salary setting, budgeting, etc.

There are several particularly strong and exciting elements to this role. You will work closely with a wide set of quite different counterparts. The role requires tight collaboration with a large variety of organizations within R&D, but also tight interaction with other functions such as Legal and IT. You will have an impact on the daily tasks at Core Technologies Analytics, as well as providing guidance that reach all the way to Axis Management. You will work towards external companies and universities, as well as towards internal stakeholders. And finally, you will work with in-house development and tools, but also other environments like tools related to gaming.

• You are structured and organized, it is important to you to document and keep a good track record. And you can keep a structured approach even when you have many parallel topics going on simultaneously towards several and different counterparts.
• You find it easy and you enjoy networking, discussing with your counterparts and understanding their views and opinions. You like to help, and people like to help you.
• And finally, since this is a manager position, you are a natural leader with an interest in people and interactions between people.
