Country Communications Manager, Sweden (Maternity Cover)
In this role you will lead ABB's country communication in Sweden, ensuring a strong and consistent brand presence across media and digital channels. You will guide how ABB communicates during opportunities as well as challenges, manage financial communication linked to ABB's listing in Sweden, and oversee core internal communication that supports employee engagement, culture, and business priorities.
You will also lead and develop the country communications team and work closely with leaders across all businesses and functions. This position is a 12-month maternity cover, offering the opportunity to lead the country's communications agenda during a key period.
This is a hybrid role based in Sweden.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the country communication strategy to strengthen ABB's brand and support business goals.
- Act as spokesperson toward Tier 1 and financial media and manage all media relations.
- Lead issues and crisis communication at country level, ensuring effective preparation and response.
- Manage financial communication related to ABB's listing on the Swedish stock exchange.
- Oversee internal communication, employee messaging, and governance of internal channels.
- Manage and govern ABB Sweden's digital channels and social media presence.
- Ensure brand consistency, compliance, and alignment with global communication guidelines.
- Lead, develop, and support the country communications team and foster collaboration across the organization.
Qualifications
- A university degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in communication management or public relations, preferably in large, global, matrixed organizations.
- Strong experience working with media, including Tier 1 outlets, and proven ability to manage crisis communication independently.
- Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills in Swedish and English.
- Good understanding of brand management, corporate communication, and the impact of communication on business performance.
- Experience managing senior stakeholders and external agencies.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, with a track record of coaching teams and driving collaboration across functions.
