About the job

As the Corporate Affairs Lead for the Magnum Ice Cream Company in the Nordics, you will support the Nordic Ice Cream business and geography, designing and deploying effective communications and corporate affairs activities, protecting and building the business across Sweden, Finland and Denmark. This is a broad and dynamic role which encompasses interactions with a range of external stakeholders, including the media, policy makers, trade associations, NGOs, politicians, customers and regulatory bodies specific to Ice Cream and related issues management.

A highly visible role, supporting the Nordic GM and broader leadership team, including factory, you will be adept at orchestrating and priority setting: you will work with a range of internal stakeholders and parts of the business, where you will be required to demonstrate understanding of Ice Cream priorities, and provide strategic counsel to leaders and their teams, and take responsibility for all communications activities including out-of-hours media relations/press office and issues management handling.

Whilst you will support the local Nordic Ice Cream Business leadership team, you will also be part of the European Corporate Affairs team, balancing local needs with the global Communication and Corporate Affairs strategy and critical in deciding when to leverage global expertise to support critical issues, locally.

Key responsibilities
  • One-stop-shop for communication: Support the delivery of Ice Cream's strategic and business priorities in the Nordics through effective communication and corporate affairs support, building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reputation Management: Ensure consistency of narrative and positioning resonates locally, while reinforcing global consistency. Work with cross-functional teams on brand campaigns and issue management, ensuring that our values and goals are communicated effectively and consistently.
  • Media Relations: Demonstrate solid understanding of the media landscape and identify opportunities and risks for the local Ice Cream business to enhance and protect reputation in key strategic areas. This includes media monitoring, drafting press releases, media statements, briefings to internal and external stakeholders and daily media monitoring.
  • Issues Management: Lead issues management in Nordics incl. setting out complex issues coherently, brief recommended actions and approaches, and challenge constructively when required.
  • Corporate Affairs: Actively collaborate with the European Corporate Affairs team to understand the nuances of policy decision for local markets and support representation in key local Trade Associations and industry partners on a wide range of topics. Translate high-level advocacy messages into tangible policy asks, identify new opportunities and mitigate risks and costs for the business.
  • Executive Support: Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager for the Nordics and teams across the business incl. preparing colleagues for external speaking engagements and media interviews.
  • Internal communication: Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives and teams across the business, as well as prepare colleagues for internal engagements - townhalls, interviews etc. Own local internal communication strategy and activities that are aligned with both local and global calendars, to deliver regular engagement with our people.

About you

We are looking for a candidate with more than 8 years proven track-record in communications and corporate affairs, preferably in an international FMCG or consumer-facing environment. You have well-rounded integrated communications experience including media relations, spokesmanship and issues management.

You are a hands-on strategic communicator with the ability to develop communications plans for complex messages, supporting organisation-wide programs with agility and proactivity. You have a strong attention to detail and can take complex policy documents and translate key points for internal stakeholders.

You have the ability to pivot and lead in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting and experience in managing sensitive issues to maintain company reputation.

You have a good track record of working with external stakeholders and building relationships.

You have a sound business acumen and knowledge of business challenges/opportunities linked to political, environmental and/or social issues.

You are fluent in both Swedish and English
