Clay Modeler/Clay Mill Operator
Do you have experience in clay modelling both by hand and clay milling, a passion for automotive and manufacturing skills?
Now is your chance - join our new product and interaction design section within the Scania R&D (BID) organization as a Clay Modeler at our Clay studio/model workshop. Scania R&D is undergoing a significant transformation as part of the TRATON R&D ecosystem. With the establishment of our new organization as of February 1st 2025, we are now building the foundations for a strong and inclusive community, driving organizational success.
Roles and responsibilities
As a clay modeler you will work in our team with clay modelers, designers and model makers to create the future.
We are a team with clay modeler, model makers and mill operators, we work close together to support our design department to get physical models in time for our timelines. For our help we have a full modern clay studio and a fullscale clay mill with scanning device.
Requirements
We believe that the ideal candidate has the following qualifications and experiences:
We are looking for demonstrated ability to work in team environments with a highly collaborative mindset. Our day to day work demands an agile attitude, adapting to different ambition levels and project conditions.
You should possess the characteristics and capability to work independently and in a team towards project goals and timelines, with a proven ability to handle multiple assignments and tasks.
The position is based at Scania Product & Interaction design's facilities in Södertälje, Sweden.

Requirements

- Independently develop models in Clay.
- Responsible that models fulfils the expected goals and are delivered according to time plan.
- Good knowledge, relevant for the role, within the automotive and manufacturing field.
- Committed, creative and driven with an open and flexible approach. High level ability to focus on the right things.
- Experience from automotive conceptual and industrialization work.
- Experience in clay milling both to run and maintenance the mill equipment.
- Experience and knowledge in property driven project development.
- CAD/CAM experience.
- Fluent Swedish and English in speech and writing.
