Business-minded Software Developer
Om jobbet
What we doWe are Columbia Road, a Nordic digital sales consultancy dedicated to transforming how companies grow. Our mission is to help companies sell better in the digital era. We focus on measurable results - not just building IT systems - using a mix of software development and design, modern data platforms, and AI-enabled marketing and sales.
Our clients include ambitious B2B and B2C companies - from global consumer brands to leading industrial players. Together, we orchestrate personalised customer journeys, automate at scale, and deliver measurable commercial impact.
Who we are
We're a community-led company, built on trust, transparency, and a low hierarchy. Everyone here has a voice in company-wide decisions. At Columbia Road, you have the freedom to grow, challenge and cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit as part of a small but ambitious team in Sweden and be a part of a group of hundreds of experts in the nordics. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the heart of who we are and we are committed to making you feel welcome from day one. We're proud of our 4.6/5 rating on Glassdoor and are always looking to do even better.
What you'll do
As a Software Development Consultant, you'll join our cross-functional group of professionals working on everything from web apps to backend services - helping our clients grow their digital sales. You'll work with technologies like JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, Go, Apex and more. Many of our projects also involve CRM systems, Marketing Automation, websites & e-commerce. You don't necessarily know everything yet, but you have some experience, and you're ready to expand your skillset quickly to match the task at hand.
You will be supported in your learning by peers in both development and other domains, and you'll have the ability to create real impact in our clients' businesses. Your motivation comes from the results and impact your solution creates, rather than the technical beauty of the code. For us, technology is a tool to create business impact for our clients, and we are agnostic in choosing whichever tools best solve the challenge.
Your daily work will include hands-on software development work in close collaboration with client team members as well as fellow Roadies. You'll also get to develop our own community by sharing your learnings, planning events and taking part in establishing Columbia Road in the Swedish market.
If you're looking for a workplace where you're given real responsibility from day one and where you get to learn new things fast from more experienced peers, you'll find it here.
Here's how you know you'll be a good fit:
- You have 2-3 years of professional experience in full-stack software development
- You're agnostic in your tech-approach and are open to using a wide array of languages, frameworks, CRM and CMS systems and ecommerce platforms, selecting the tools that best match our clients' needs.
- In addition to Typescript/Javascript frontend frameworks, you're comfortable with backend programming and integrations, and can work in other languages as well (e.g. Python, Go, PHP, Ruby, etc.)
- You're familiar with testing web and backend applications, from UI/component tests (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library) to integration tests and APIs.
- Some experience with CI/CD, containerization (Docker), Git and cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, Azure, AWS.
- Continuous improvement and agile ways of working are familiar to you
- You're business minded, meaning you love the problem and not the solution.
- You're no stranger to working with people from areas outside of the technical and you are comfortable communicating matters related to your own work - it's not a problem for you to present your own ideas to a small group of people from time to time, for example in a workshop.
- You are self-driven, proactive and want to continuously learn new things.
- You would love to work with challenging client cases supported by a diverse community of digital sales professionals.
- You have a "get things done" attitude towards your work.
- You have professional proficiency in both Swedish and English
We value close and constant collaboration in our team work - whether it's with customers, fellow Roadies and/or consultants from other companies - as it enables us to learn from each other and work more efficiently towards a shared goal. Often this is achieved best by working from the same location. Hence, we can only consider candidates who live (or plan to move) within commuting distance of central Stockholm and are open to working on-site according to client needs.
Note: We are currently not able to offer visa sponsorships for Sweden, so, unfortunately, we can't consider applications from outside EU/EEA.
What we offer

- A diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace
- Option to buy stocks of the company through the common employee share program
- Recurring training and learning sessions to support your professional growth
- Offices in central Stockholm, Drottninggatan 33, with daily breakfast & snacks
- A wide selection of quality tools to use for your work (laptop, phone etc.) and a mobile phone subscription
- Health services incl. mental health, and insurance
- 5000 SEK tax-free wellness benefit (Friskvårdsbidrag)
- Recurring Roadie-ideated events and activities

When we're done with the face-to-face discussions, we'll contact the people you have chosen as references.
