As an Assortment Manager of our baby portfolio at Essity, you play a key role in optimizing and governing the product assortment to meet business objectives, consumer and customer needs, and market regulatory requirements. You work cross‑functionally with various key stakeholders to ensure assortments are competitive, cost efficient, compliant, and fit for purpose across markets.
This role combines strategic decision‑making with operational execution. You will define and maintain assortment specifications, lead product changes, and introduce structured KPI follow‑up to enable transparency and informed decisions.
This is an 11‑month temporary position, based in Gothenburg. You will be reporting to the Product Assortment Director Baby, located in Didsbury, UK.
What You Will Do
- Assortment Strategy: Drive assortment optimization based on business requirements, market needs, and strategic objectives.
- Portfolio Decisions: Take ownership of decisions related to adding, delisting, or modifying product specifications.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Secure input and agreement from Sales and Marketing regarding P&L impact and brand positioning, as well as from Product Supply.
- Compliance Management: Ensure assortments comply with internal and external requirements, including Product Safety, labelling and claims, legal compliance, and the global brand framework.
- Product Change Leadership: Lead the product change process to ensure structured, transparent, and timely implementation of changes.
- Performance Follow‑up: Introduce and maintain KPI systems that provide overview and enable effective follow‑up across the full assortment.
- Continuous Improvement: Facilitate or coordinate de‑complexification initiatives and quality or cost optimization activities when appropriate.
Who You Are
You are a collaborative and structured professional with strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Confident and assertive in your approach, you are comfortable taking decisions while balancing multiple perspectives. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage several priorities simultaneously, and use data-driven insights to guide impactful decisions.
- A university degree in a relevant field; a technical degree is considered an advantage.
- Several years of experience in product management, product assortment, or a related role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience working with SAP.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
