As you can imagine, keeping track of over 1 000 000 connected customer assets rolling around the world is indeed a challenge. Now ponder, that vehicles in a few years will be autonomous – and you’ve got the challenge of your life. Consumer Services at Volvo Group Connected Solutions is responsible for the end user services, from idea to development and operation. Together with our partners and customers we create value through fantastic user experience and business enhancing services and products. Within Consumer Services we have the extraordinary great Tracking & Optimization team which manages the development and maintenance of our positioning, zone management and range prediction products – and your experience is needed.

We are now looking for a Solution Architect for the Range & Route product team within Tracking & Optimization.

Key responsibilities

The Tracking & Optimization service team consists of different product teams that delivers positioning services, zone management services, vehicle optimization services and range and route services. The main responsibility of the role is to bridge business problems and technical solutions within the product area for Range & Route. Also close collaboration with the Tracking & Optimization core team architect, the Range & Route product owner and the development teams. Finding the best solution for a business problem will be the core working process. In practice this means analysis, create design and enhance existing services for the future. The mentality of the role shall be to drive the design of micro services for the Range & Route product in Tracking & Optimization service team, learn our development platform and collaborate with many teams.

Features of the role are:

  • Through a holistic solution view, design services optimized both for business need, TCO and maintainability
  • Describe structures, characteristics, and other aspects of the design for involved development teams, both frontend and backend teams.
  • API design skills
  • End-2-End Flow Visualization
  • Drive reviews of architecture concepts and solutions
  • Perform presentation of solutions to stakeholders

Competence Profile & Qualifications

As a person we believe you are structured, innovative and have a strong technical focus in combination with a customer-oriented attitude. You like take responsibility and enjoy teamwork, solving our challenges together and contribute with team spirit!


Your personality is your major reason for success, but we also think you have:

  • A university degree in Computer science or similar
  • Experience from software engineering and agile development
  • Experience of fleet management systems and the Transport/Logistics domain area
  • You have several year’s documented experience from assignments in designing and developing systems in close cooperation with customers
  • Have a Java or Javascript development background
  • Developing and architecting with AWS Cloud Services
  • Ability to inspire, develop and motivate individuals and teams
  • Strong interest in process improvements and ability to create structure
  • Have capacity to execute against set targets and a “can do” attitude
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relations with your internal and external partners
  • You need to be fluent in English - both written and spoken. Basic skills in Swedish is preferred and you hold valid work-permit for Sweden, if not EU-citizen
  • And finally, but not the least, continuously reflect upon how we are doing things and where we can improve
