Scania is working on the development of sustainable products and electrification is an important part of the formula for success. A central, strategic part of the electrification process is the battery system, which provides energy to power the vehicle. Our aim is to create a high-performance product in terms of both energy density and safety. Would you like to be involved? Then why not apply for this job

About us
The group you will be part of, UBCE, is the product owner of battery pack systems and has responsibility for safety, performance and legal requirements and for establishing high-performance, specialist teams to develop the world's best battery pack systems. There are currently several roles within the group and one of these is the safety engineer whose area is growing and who needs more test engineers.

About the role
You will be a member of our electrical safety team working on battery development and electrified vehicles. Examples of your tasks include designing measuring systems for high-voltage components where you will control the actuators remotely, synchronise the measuring instruments and build test rigs and test set-ups for tests in the field of electrical safety. You will also run tests of circuit breaking concepts, measure and understand electrical components and their limits, create test rigs with control systems, analyse results and write test specifications and reports. The role also includes holding tests at external institutes and understanding how Scania's requirements and the provisions of legislation affect the entire system.

Your profile
You have both practical and theoretical skills and a degree in electrical or information engineering. You will have had a few years' experience of working in the field of electronics and ideally been involved with control units. You will also be familiar with product development processes for electronic systems.
  • You have previously helped to build test set-ups, worked with measuring instruments and used the Matlab, Labview and CANalyzer tools.
  • You are curious and able to take the initiative. You can manage your own work independently and you also like working in a team and contributing to the group's deliverables.
  • You enjoy your work, want to develop as a person and are proud of the results you produce.
We offer
We offer an interesting and challenging job where there is plenty of scope for new ideas. Our corporate culture is characterised by openness, diversity and respect for the individual. Employees are our most important resource, so we invest in training our employees and giving them the opportunity to broaden their skills in order to be able to grow with us.

We offer Scania employees and their families free access to our complete fitness centre. We can offer you Scania Job Express, a direct bus that runs between Stockholm and Södertälje. You can also enjoy other benefits such as an option to sign an agreement for an employee car, flexible working hours, lunch benefits at reduced prices and much more.
