Jobbet har utgått och går inte längre att ansöka.

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced project manager, who can help us accelerate international shipping's green transition.

The Global Maritime Forum is an international not-for-profit organization committed to shaping the future of global seaborne trade, to increase sustainable long-term economic development and human wellbeing. We are a leading platform for multi-stakeholder collaboration and action, founded on the idea that progress happens when people from all parts of a system – those who have the will and the influence to make positive change – work together on finding new solutions to critical challenges. To this end, we facilitate game-changing initiatives, including the Getting to Zero Coalition, the Poseidon Principles (the world's first sector specific, self-governing climate alignment agreement amongst financial institutions), the Sea Cargo Charter (industry giants committing to transparent reporting of shipping emissions), and the Neptune Declaration on Seafarer Wellbeing and Crew Change.

About the role
Launched at the UN Climate Action Summit in New York in 2019, the Getting to Zero Coalition brings together more than 200 members within the maritime industry with key stakeholders from the energy and finances sectors, supported by key governments and IGOs. Together, they are committed to getting commercially viable zero emission vessels operating along deep-sea trade routes by 2030, towards full decarbonization of the sector by 2050.

While industry is showing leadership through concrete action such as the development of pilot and demonstration projects, as well as commissioning zero-emission ready vessels, policy frameworks need to be developed and adopted to incentivize and support the transition at scale.

As our new project manager, your primary responsibility will therefore be to work with a group of global stakeholders, including the most climate ambitious members of the Coalition, towards an enabling political framework for shipping decarbonization at the IMO, but importantly also at other levels of government action, including regional and national levels.

We are looking for someone who is as invested as we are in accelerating the shipping sector's green transition and who will work with colleagues in the Global Maritime Forum, the partners and members of the Getting to Zero Coalition as well as a wider set of stakeholders to mobilize the sector to tackle this critical challenge.

Key responsibilities
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for deliverables related to the Coalition's policy work, joining a team of experienced and motivated colleagues.

The tasks include to, with impact as your guiding star,
  • develop strategies and activities for the Coalition and establish a plan for their delivery
  • build and maintain a community of stakeholders around the need for policy action, with a special emphasis on fostering and enabling industry champions
  • conceptualize and organize panels, workshops, roundtables, and other engagement opportunities
  • identify knowledge gaps, commission and oversee the production of analytical work
  • draft analytical and argumentative pieces
  • support the dissemination of findings and key messages
  • identify funding opportunities, develop proposals and report to donors, together with our grants coordinator
About you
  • You have significant experience in building and managing multistakeholder initiatives, preferably with a focus on maritime, climate, energy, or sustainability
  • You have demonstrated ability to manage collaborative processes that balance the needs of individual parties with overall outcomes
  • You are well-versed in policy-making processes and negotiations, preferably at the IMO or other multilateral fora, as well as on the national level. Expertise with respect to regional policy processes such as the EU is a merit.
  • You are highly motivated, proactive and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment
  • You have great organizational skills and can adapt to rapidly changing priorities, balancing attention to detail with keeping in mind the big picture
  • You are comfortable working in a truly global context
Preferred qualifications
  • Advanced university degree in business, economics, public policy, international relations or another relevant field
  • At least 5 years of professional experience, preferably in the maritime, energy, climate or related sectors, government, IGO or NGOs
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
