About the position
The NMBU School of Economics and Business (Handelshøyskolen) has a vacancy for a postdoctoral position within climate economics.

The position is full-time for two years with 100% research, or three years with 2/3 research and 1/3 teaching. The planned start-up is January 2022.

The position is part of the new project, "Developing value chains for CO2 storage and blue hydrogen in Europe" (Device), financed by the Research Council of Norway and lead by the Frisch Centre.

The main workplace for the postdoc will be at NMBU with opportunities for research stays at the Frisch Centre and academic institutions abroad.

Main tasks
The position is fulltime for two years with 100% research, or three years with 2/3 research and 1/3 teaching, supervision, and administrative duties. The tentative teaching load corresponds to teaching 10 ECTS credits and supervising two master's theses a year.

In the research project, the postdoc will contribute to study how to develop value chains for CO2 storage and blue hydrogen in Europe (natural-gas based hydrogen production with capture and storage of CO2). Possible tasks may include factors influencing demand for, and supply of, CO2 storage; the interactions between value chains for CO2 storage and blue hydrogen; competition between green and blue hydrogen; and policy instruments to develop value chains for CO2 storage and blue hydrogen. The contribution of the postdoc will be a combination of modelling based on economic theory and empirical work. The postdoc will work closely with senior researchers and a PhD student. Which parts of the project the postdoc will work on will be decided based on discussions with supervisors and other project participants. More information about the overall research project is found here: https://www.nmbu.no/en/faculty/hh/news/node/43785

We expect the postdoc to have a strong research focus on applied economic theory, including energy economics, environmental economics, and industrial organization. The postdoc should, as being part of a research team, aim for publication in high-quality journals.

The main purpose of the postdoctoral position is to qualify for work in high-level scientific positions.
