Job description

Oetiker Group is expanding in Sweden and we are looking for a leader for our global Customer System Engineering team, which currently consists of four team members. You will be responsible for and managing customer projects as well as driving all engineering activities to customize existing products and integrate them into systems of major E-mobility OEMs worldwide. This is an end-to-end responsibility from customer pain point identification to production in close collaboration with our global KAM teams.
Our Polymer Center of Competence, located at Lindholmen in Gothenburg Sweden, is a newly founded branch of the Oetiker Group with the global responsibility to develop polymer quick connectors and system solutions mainly for thermal management applications in electric vehicles. Responsibilities

  • Build up and lead the global Customer System Engineering team with team members in Gothenburg and in the US and with additional members planned in Asia later this year
  • Act as technical expert in interactions with customers in close collaboration with Oetiker’s global KAM teams to identify customer needs and pain points
  • Manage customization of existing products and development of new polymer fluid system concepts, including 3D models, mockups, prototypes etc.
  • Provide design integration support to advanced engineering at our customers to integrate our solutions into their systems (visualized via CAD)
  • Oversee planning, reporting and execution of customer specific development projects (products and processes) while meeting quality, cost and delivery expectations
  • Oversee internal and external testing and validation activities for all running customer projects
  • Liaises closely with production partners to ensure smooth SOP
  • Manage project risks and track development projects using measurable KPls
  • Continuously align team capacity and capabilities with near and long-term needs
  • Closely collaborate with the polymer R&D department for resource planning and new product development ideas
  • Ensure that developed solutions are cost-effective, innovative, reliable and of high quality to provide customers the peace of mind that their components are reliably connected


Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering (BSc/MSc)
  • 7+ years) working experience as a Project Engineer or KAM in the automotive industry
  • Professional engineering experience with plastic parts and systems
  • Excellent leadership skills paired with strong innovative thinking
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop strong client relationships and to explain complex technical issues/solutions in a simple and compelling way
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Swedish and English
  • Willingness to travel
If you have knowledge of CAD, preferably SolidWorks, and/or experience with quality standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001, we will see this as an advantage.  As a person, you are a self-starter with a team-oriented attitude and hands-on skills.
