About the position:

Discovery Networks is looking to recruit a Consumer Research Manager to be located in Stockholm. This is a 12 month contract position to be filled as soon as possible.

The Consumer Research Manager is a key position within the regional research team, where your knowledge of the media landscape, research experience and ability toclearlyidentify and communicate insightsin support of multiple stakeholders, will help drive 'Discovery Networks Nordics' to gain a clear competitive advantage

The primary role of the consumer research manager is to provide analysis and consumer insight to guide decision-making around content, marketing, product, and portfolio, and to identify, understand and surface consumer and industry trends with the potential to impact and drive our business forward. Reporting to the Nordic Research Director, the role will support senior stakeholders with high level, cohesive reporting and recommendations of the portfolio.

In this role, you will be responsible for bringing the voice of the consumer into the business, and core responsibilities will include regular performance reporting, ad-hoc presentations, analyses and recommendations based on internal and external audience data, as well as briefing and managing commissioned qualitative & quantitative projects.

Working in a period of rapid transformation, with a high focus and requirement for insights and research, you will work in close collaboration with local content and marketing teams, additionally collaborating on broader local & regional research projects and workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

Pro-active and influential, brings the voice of the multi-screenconsumer from the outside in, and fosters a data-led culture.

Responsible for turning data into actionable insights and presenting / disseminating those findings in an engaging, attractive and easily digestible format to various teams.

Track and report the performance of our linear channels and streaming services, and proactively provide relevant performance data and market insights in terms of linear TV and VOD (Video on Demand).

Demonstrates deep competency in exploiting various data sources, TAM data, online analytics, third party analysis, to create a holistic view of the consumer.

Works collaboratively with other Discovery Research and Insights teams, locally and internationally, lending help to their work streams when necessary.

Identify and communicate key consumer, competitor and industry trends impacting our business, translating findings into compelling, visual graphic displays and presentations.

Initiate & lead presentations and workshops to share and communicate the results of research studies with internal stakeholders.

Develop and maintain relations with external stakeholders, including managing relationships with research companies to conduct qualitative and quantitative studies.

Attend relevant internal & external meetings, seminars, courses and conferences as an ambassador of Discovery.

Requirements:

  • Relevant education from university
  • Minimumof three years' relevant industry research experience
  • Extensive experience of people-meter data and other research tools
  • Passion for the media industry & video content in particular
  • A natural curiosity and interest in consumer behavior
  • Very good analytical skills
  • Experience managing quantitative and qualitative studies
  • Very good communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels
  • A high degree of independence and drive to initiate new research projects
  • High degree of precision and accuracy
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office and G-suite tools desirable
  • Ability to build lasting relationships and a collaborative approach
  • Excellent written and spoken English is essential
