What you'll do

Right now, we are looking for aWater Treatment and Site Water Manager for our greenfield plant in Boden. In this role you will report to ourHead of Mill Services.

The Water Treatment & Site Water Manager ensures the site's water systems remain compliant, stable, and efficiently controlled across all operations. The role comes with real independence - making decisions, solving problems, and working with people across the site and with external partners.

You'll oversee key contracts, guide service providers, and look for practical ways to improve how water is treated and managed. At its core, the job is about caring for an essential resource and making sure the whole water system stays strong and sustainable.

Specific to this role, the day-to-day tasks will include the following but as we are a growing company with very little silos between teams, other tasks might be included as well.

  • Lead and develop the water management team, while overseeing key service partnerships, contracts, and chemical supply for WTP 1 and WTP 2.

  • Ensure compliant water and wastewater quality monitoring, providing expert guidance while operational control remains with plant areas.

  • Secure reliable raw and potable water supply, managing municipal coordination, internal stakeholders, and the site's water distribution infrastructure.

  • Govern pipeline and infrastructure performance, driving regulatory compliance, long-term asset reliability, and operational risk mitigation.

  • Optimize water treatment efficiency, chemical use, costs, and equipment performance through strategic improvement initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Represent Stegra in strategic water-related projects, lead major contract and budget responsibilities, and contribute to long-term site planning and decision-making.

Specific to this role, we would like to see that you can tick off a fair amount of the boxes below

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, chemical, industrial, or production engineering, with relevant water treatment certifications considered an advantage.

  • 8+ years of experience in large-scale water treatment and process engineering within heavy industry, including project, commissioning, or startup exposure.

  • Demonstrated capability in contract management, budgeting, cost control, and compliance with ISO 9001/14001/45001 standards.

  • Strong technical knowledge of water treatment technologies such as ultrafiltration, demineralization, and wastewater processes.

  • Skilled in plant performance analysis, project management, and cross-functional collaboration, with proven leadership ability.

  • Fluent in English with knowledge of Swedish labor and environmental regulations; basic Swedish skills are a plus.
