The Global Health & Safety Lead is responsible for defining, implementing, and continuously improving the global Health & Safety (H&S) across all VT operations, workshops, offices, and corporate functions.

The role ensures compliance with local and international regulations, drives a strong safety culture, reduces risk, and protects employees, customers, and contractors, while enabling safe, efficient, and scalable retail operations worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be the owner of:

Performance and improvement plans

Risk profile and priority risks

Governance aligned with company framework

Competence development

Analytics and performance follow-up

Drive Health & Safety Business networks

Set-up trainings

You will also define:

Specific Health & Safety guidelines and procedures aligned with company directives

Critical risk programs and controls

KPIs and targets aligned with company KPIs, Health and Safety performance

Analytics use cases and dashboards

Recognition initiatives aligned with company framework

And provide:

Health & Safety expertise and support to countries and sites

Training/Coaching for managers and local Health & Safety specialists

Facilitation of risk assessments, audits, and improvement initiatives

Business-level analytics, insights, and reporting

Support for incident investigations and lessons learned

Best-practice sharing across countries

The Success Measures (KPIs) will be:

Reduction in recordable incidents and lost-time injuries

Audit and regulatory compliance scores

Adoption of global H&S standards across regions

Safety culture indicators (reporting, engagement, training completion)

On-time and on-budget delivery of global H&S projects

Who are you?

To excel in this position, we believe you have the following qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in occupational health, environmental health, engineering, or related field

Formal Health & Safety certification (one or more preferred):

NEBOSH (General or International)

IOSH

ISO 45001 Lead Auditor / Implementer

Equivalent local or international certification

Documented formal project management certification

Demonstrated experience from leading complex, cross-border projects

8-12+ years of progressive experience in Health & Safety roles

Strong background in retail, consumer-facing, or multi-site operational environments

Experience working in a global or regional role across multiple countries

Proven ability to operate in a global organization

Track record of driving measurable reductions in incidents and risks

Key Skills & Competencies

Deep understanding of retail risk profiles and operational safety

Strong project management and execution skills

Ability to translate technical Health & Safety requirements into practical business solutions

Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills

Data-driven mindset with strong reporting and analytical capabilities

High level of integrity, credibility, and resilience

The position is based in Gothenburg and frequent travel is required.
