Role Overview:
As a Technical Advisor, you will serve as an essential consultant for both our internal departments and external clients, offering specialist guidance and instruction on our flat roofing systems. This role demands extensive expertise in product portfolios, installation techniques, building regulations, and industry standards to provide high-level support to roofing professionals and internal teams.
Success in this position is driven by a combination of technical proficiency, exceptional communication abilities, and a commitment to educating our partners. Your responsibilities extend to participating in product innovation, addressing any technical issues and customer concerns, and maintaining rigorous compliance with industry standards.
This role is based either at our Malmö headquarters or via a home office in the Gothenburg or Stockholm regions, with domestic travel required. You will be reporting to our Denmark-based Technical Manager Nordic - Flat.
Your Main Tasks:
Technical Expertise and Support Responsibilities
- Flat Roofing Expertise:Act as the subject matter expert for Icopal's flat roofing solutions, guiding customers and teams on correct installation and adherence to proper working conditions.
- Stakeholder Guidance:Offer technical advice and support to a wide range of stakeholders, including:
- External:Roofers, architects, and external partners (assisting with specification, product selection, installation queries, and building code compliance).
- Internal:Sales, customer service, and marketing teams (providing guidance on product applications and troubleshooting).
- Complaint and Guarantee Management:Manage technical complaints and administer product guarantees.
Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training sessions-both on-site and in-house-for roofers, customers, and internal personnel. The goal is to ensure a deep understanding of correct installation procedures and product advantages.
- Support the shift from individual product sales to system-based solutions by providing customer training focused on product and system application.
- Organize and conduct internal training for sales teams and other relevant departments.
Quality Assurance & Site Inspections:
- Conduct on-site quality assessments of installations, ensuring compliance with established best practices.
- Manage installation guarantees, which includes verifying proper implementation before final sign-off.
- Handle claims.
Product Development & Industry Engagement:
- Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement by participating in development projects and product testing.
- Influence industry standards and best practices through engagement in technical forums and industry committees.
Your Experience:
Ideally, you possess a construction technical degree or other relevant education within the building and construction sector.
Several years of practical experience in the construction industry, particularly as a craftsman, with experience as a roofer being highly beneficial. You also have solid experience in providing technical support/service, and experience in training others is an advantage.
You are digitally savvy, fluent in Swedish, and have strong skills in English.
