Team Leader Procurement Execution (6-month assignment)

About the role
The Team LeaderProcurement Execution role is a fixed-term, 6-month assignment establishedto ensure strong ownership, alignment, and performance of the EuropeanProcurement Execution category within AAK. The purpose of the role is tostabilize, align, and optimize procurement execution activities across Europewhile strengthening Procure-to-Pay (P2P) governance and operationalconsistency.
The role leads ageographically distributed team of Purchasing Assistants and focuses onstreamlining processes, clarifying responsibilities, and implementing a short-to mid-term strategy that supports efficient procurement operations andprepares the organization for long-term success.
Responsibilities
-Ensure a smooth administration process across European Procurement, enabling Buyers and Category Managers to focus on real cost savings.
-Ensure back-up functions are in place for European Procurement Execution.
-Identify and report KPIs for Procurement Execution.
-Initiate and implement change and alignment processes across Europe within Procurement Execution and Procurement overall.
-Ensure close alignment with the Global Procurement Excellence function on all process changes.
-Keep the European Procurement Director updated on progress at least monthly.
-Lead and develop the Execution Team and its people.
About you
-Deep understanding of Procurement Execution and solid experience with end-to-end procurement processes.
-Minimum 10 years of practical experience in Procurement and Supply Chain roles, preferably across multiple functions.
-Proven ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently when required.
-Experience working in multicultural, matrix, and multi-site organizations.
-Strong leadership capabilities, including task delegation and coordination of team members.
-Demonstrated execution and administrative skills gained through hands-on operational work and people management.
-Experience in documenting, implementing, and improving procedures and routines, with the ability to work cross-functionally in international environments.
