You will be part of a small, cohesive team where everyone has a significant impact on both products and processes.

Tasks and responsibilities

As a Synthetic Chemist, you will work closely in the lab within an experienced team, playing a key role in the development and production of high-quality research lipids. You will be involved in the full process - from planning synthesis strategies to performing synthesis, purifications, scale-up, analysis, and quality assurance. The role offers varied laboratory work in a research-oriented environment, with both established methods and advanced research projects, while actively contributing to method development and continuous improvement of processes.

Documentation is performed in electronic lab notebooks, and you will collaborate closely with other chemists to solve technical challenges, develop new workflows, and ensure the highest quality in production.

Your main responsibilities include:
  • Performing lipid syntheses and further developing existing synthesis methods and scale-up processes
  • Working with method development, experimental design, and ongoing problem-solving in the lab
  • Performing purification and separations using various analytical and preparative techniques
  • Managing documentation in electronic lab notebooks and ensuring quality control
  • Participating in development projects for new products and processes

Education, experience and personal characteristics
  • Completed MSc or PhD in chemistry with a focus on synthetic organic chemistry
  • Documented experience in organic/chemical synthesis, through studies, thesis work, or professional experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with analytical techniques and purification methods
  • Ability to document laboratory work accurately in electronic lab notebooks
  • Excellent English skills, both written and spoken

It is desirable if you also have:
  • Experience in lipid synthesis or carbohydrate synthesis
  • Experience from pharmaceutical, chemical, or R&D industries, research-focused environments, or international teams
  • Experience in method development, optimization and scaling up synthesis processes
  • Experience with advanced analytical methods for structure and purity determination

To thrive in this role, you should have a genuine interest in chemistry and a strong commitment to hands-on lab work. You are curious, logical, and hard working both independently and collaboratively. As a person we see you contribute to a positive team dynamic, and enjoy working in an international, social environment where collaboration is key.
