Om jobbet

Do you want to work in a global company where you can contribute to a more sustainable food production? DeLaval is a leading developer, manufacturer, and supplier of solutions for dairy farmers around the world. As a company built on innovation, we constantly work to find ways of helping our customers do more with less.

The DeLaval Edge Platform team builds the IoT backbone that connects devices, sensors and edge compute across farms worldwide. We work where IoT, edge computing and cloud meet - enabling secure onboarding, real-time communication and high-availability automation in challenging environments.

Role and responsibilities

As a Software Developer IoT & Edge, you will develop software that runs across cloud services, edge nodes and on-farm devices. You help evolve a secure, scalable and reliable IoT platform by working closely with hardware, firmware, cloud and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop IoT platform and edge services for device management, OTA updates and distributed workloads.
  • Design microservices for secure communication and fleet monitoring.
  • Implement secure onboarding and provisioning flows for new devices.
  • Build connectivity and telemetry solutions that work in low-bandwidth and offline-first environments.
  • Improve reliability, monitoring and automated testing for large device fleets.
  • Apply strong IoT security practices and support migration to modern architectures.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role we believe that you have:

  • Strong backend skills in Python, Go, Rust or TypeScript
  • Good understanding of Linux systems, preferably Yocto-based.
  • Experience with IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, gRPC, REST).
  • Familiarity with cloud IoT platforms and container runtimes.
  • Basic networking knowledge (TLS, certificates, VPNs, routing).
  • Experience with distributed or offline-capable systems.

We would also like to see:

  • Experience with industrial IoT or large-scale device fleets.
  • Hands-on work with factory provisioning, device imaging or hardware integration.
  • Understanding of real-time systems, telemetry pipelines or anomaly detection.
  • Experience with edge AI or applying ML at the edge.
  • Frontend experience in Vue.js or React (optional).

  • Private healthcare insurance.
  • Flexible working hours and reduced working hours.
  • 30 days paid annual leave.
