Assignment Overview:Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior System Developer with strong full-stack Java expertise to strengthen its IT development operations. The role involves contributing to the organization's development portfolio by building, enhancing, and maintaining critical systems while ensuring high standards in code quality, architecture, and delivery.
The selected consultant will work collaboratively within agile teams, demonstrating independence, initiative, and the ability to support and mentor peers while driving progress across ongoing and planned initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications within the client's system landscape.
Contribute to both new development and continuous improvement of existing systems, ensuring stability and scalability.
Deliver high-quality code and uphold best practices in software architecture and engineering standards.
Engage in full-stack development using Java and modern frontend technologies.
Work with technologies including Camunda, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, Spring Boot, RabbitMQ, and DB2 within a Red Hat OpenShift environment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile setup, ensuring alignment across parallel development streams.
Support coordination, planning, and follow-up of activities across multiple teams to ensure cohesive delivery.
Participate in troubleshooting, maintenance, and administrative tasks within IT operations as required.
Contribute to improving development methodologies, tools, and workflows.
Provide guidance and mentorship to other developers when needed.
Working Environment & Conditions:
Work is conducted within the client's IT environment under their governance, tools, and methodologies.
Agile ways of working are applied, involving multiple interdependent teams delivering in parallel.
On-site presence at the client's office in Sundsvall is required on average 2 days per week, with remote work allowed in coordination.
The assignment must be performed from within Sweden unless otherwise agreed.
Leave and availability will be planned collaboratively with the client and team to ensure operational continuity.
Required Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience (within the last 10 years) in a senior or equivalent role in IT and agile system development on distributed, service-oriented platforms.
Strong capability to work independently while collaborating effectively within teams.
Educational Requirements:
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Required Skills:
Strong expertise in Java development and full-stack engineering
Experience with Spring Boot and enterprise Java frameworks
Proficiency in frontend technologies such as Angular and JavaScript/TypeScript
Experience with Camunda workflow engine
Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift and container-based environments
Knowledge of RabbitMQ and event-driven architectures
Experience with DB2 databases
Familiarity with REST-based integrations
Strong understanding of agile methodologies and DevOps practices
Language Requirements:
Swedish - Fluent (mandatory)
Meritorious (Preferred Qualifications):
Extensive experience (10+ years) in similar senior roles
Experience with JPA/Hibernate for persistence and data modeling
Background in microservices architecture using Kubernetes-based platforms
Experience with OpenShift tools such as ArgoCD and Helm
Familiarity with version control systems (Git/Bitbucket)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
Prior experience in financial systems (e.g., banking, accounting, loans, payments)
Experience mentoring developers and supporting technical teams
Background in large organizations (100+ employees)
Experience working within the Swedish public sector
Familiarity with Jira for agile project management and workflows
