The role

We're looking for a skilledSenior Machine Learning Engineerto serve as a technical leader in our Smart Discovery Team- the group shaping the next generation of discovery experiences at Epidemic.

In this role, you'll architect and lead the development of AI systems that form the core of our discovery experience and uncover music in new, intuitive ways. You'll work at the intersection of agentic AI, large language models, and traditional search algorithms, creating conversational and context-aware discovery experiences that redefine how people interact with our library.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Build and evolve the features that power how users discover and connect with our catalog.

• Take ideas from concept to production: your team owns its projects end to end.
• Prototype, experiment, and scale solutions that combine search, personalisation, and conversational AI.
• Design and evaluate retrieval and agentic systems that understand user intent and context.
• Contribute to a curious, collaborative, and explorative team culture.
• Define, implement, and evangelise best practices in ML engineering, code quality, and system design, measurably improving team processes and output
• Coach and mentor other engineers to level up the team's capabilities, acting as a key technical partner to influence product, data, and design roadmaps.

Who You Are

• PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Proven experience building and deploying production-grade LLM or agentic AI systems (e.g. reasoning, memory, context optimisation, tool use, retrieval).
• Strong background in one or more ML domains: LLMs, NLP, information retrieval, recommendation systems, or reinforcement learning.
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals.
• A proactive and self-directed mindset, thriving in an agile, experiment-driven environment.
