// ABOUT THE POSITION

Are you passionate about designing the next generation of electric drive systems? At Alvier, you will shape innovative solutions for automotive and industrial applications, helping us to steer towards our vision which is to identify and implement the world's most impactful energy transformations.

As a Mechanical Engineer at Alvier, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of electric machines and drive systems, primarily for automotive applications but also other industries. You will ensure that developed solutions are suitable for manufacturing and assembly, support component procurement, and guarantee technical feasibility with suppliers. Your role spans the complete system-from the integration of electromagnetic components to proactive crossfunctional collaboration-ensuring that every subassembly and interface is thoroughly considered, from concept to tested prototype.

You will work with state-of-the-art design tools and industry standards, set mechanical requirements, and support the development of test plans for components and systems. In this position you will also create build instructions, and support prototype build, test, and validation activities. There may be opportunity to carry out mechanical or thermal FEA modelling (e.g. in ANSYS). You will also act as the customer's technical contact for mechanical topics in the projects you work on.

About you

You enjoy working with cross-functional teams and are driven by curiosity, collaboration, and a desire to solve real customer challenges. You are hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working from concept to prototype in early development phase.

We are looking for you who have:
  • A degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • 3+ years' experience in mechanical design of electric machines, including design for manufacturing
  • Deep experience with design software (preferably Creo)
  • Experience in mechanical and/or thermal finite element analysis (ANSYS Workbench, ANSYS ACP, or similar)
  • Knowledge of electrical machine design and integration in automotive drive/auxiliary systems and basic knowledge of power electronics, sensors, actuators, and their integration in automotive drives
  • Practical experience building prototypes of electrical machines or similar systems
  • Good communication skills-verbal and written and fluent in English (written and spoken)

Working environment & location
  • Work is conducted in office, workshop, and laboratory environments
  • Job location: Helsingborg, Sweden (hybrid work; minimum 50% on site)
  • Reports to CTO
  • Interfaces with customers, suppliers, and universities
  • Travel: up to 20 days/year, national and international
