Om jobbet

We are now looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Hardware Area in Linköping.

While ACTIA Nordics roots are in the automotive industry, we now support clients across a variety of industries, where we offer in-house innovative development collaborations for our customers. Just as important as innovation is our responsibility to the planet. Sustainability is not just a checkbox for us - it is a crucial part of who we are. Our vision is to make the World Green, Safe and Connected. That means, for a hardware engineer, actively choosing components with lower environmental impact and continuously seeking to reduce Scope 3 emissions throughout our supply chain and product lifecycle. With other words - designing smart and robust products that emits low emissions.

As a Mechanical Engineer at ACTIA Nordic, you will have a broad and hands-on role where you'll take on significant technical responsibility, work closely with other disciplines, and be involved from concept to final product.

You'll be one out of two mechanical engineers in the team, which gives you a central role in development while collaborating closely with electronics engineers, testers, and other colleagues.

Your key responsibilities will therefore be:
  • To drive the mechanical development for new products - from concept to production.
  • Work broadly across CAD design, manufacturing method selection, and product structure.
  • Build and maintain BOMs (Bill of Materials) and ensure solid documentation.
  • Maintain close dialogue with testers and follow up on product verification.
  • Collaborate closely with electronics engineers to ensure integrated solutions.
  • Ensure that the design is cost-effective and manufacturable.

We are looking for someone who has:
  • A university degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automotive industry or related sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods and production technologies - especially for electronics-related products.
  • An understanding of product structure and experience building and managing BOMs.
  • Proficiency in Catia V5 - this is our main CAD tool.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Strong communication skills in both Swedish and English.

It's a plus if you have:
  • Experience from the manufacturing of electronics products.
  • Previous work in projects where mechanical and electronic design are closely integrated.
  • Practical understanding of testing, verification, and production processes.
