We are now looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal & IP team. You will work both independently and collaboratively, supporting the Head of Legal and business leaders on a broad range of complex legal and strategic matters in a global setting.
What You'll Do
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a central role alongside the Head of Legal in shaping the organization's legal strategy, supporting business growth, and managing legal and compliance risks. Your responsibilities will include:
Advising senior leadership on strategic legal matters, risk exposure, and corporate governance
Leading complex legal projects across jurisdictions, particularly in areas related to digital technology, innovation, and commercialization within the automotive sector
Providing expert legal counsel on Swedish corporate law, including board matters, shareholder issues, M&A, reorganizations, and corporate structure
Acting as legal lead in major commercial negotiations, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships
Developing and managing contract frameworks and contract management systems, including templates and negotiation guidelines
Ensuring compliance with Swedish and EU laws across corporate, commercial, and regulatory areas, including oversight of the whistleblowing and compliance reporting channel
Coordinating with external counsel on specialized matters such as litigation, competition, and regulatory law
Supporting internal risk assessments, audits, and due diligence activities
Enhancing internal legal awareness through training and guidance to business teams
Lead and update legal policies and procedures in line with the company's ethics and compliance programs
Monitoring legislative changes and advising stakeholders on potential business impacts
Who You Are:
We are looking for a confident, business-oriented, and highly collaborative legal professional with a solid track record in corporate and commercial law. You bring a combination of legal excellence, strong communication skills, and strategic thinking.
Legal Master's Degree from an accredited Swedish law school
Knowledge or experience working with data privacy, AI, Data Act or other data related legal areas
Approximately 5-8 years of legal experience, preferably from a top-tier law firm or as in-house legal counsel in an international corporation
Demonstrated expertise in Swedish corporate and commercial law, including experience with governance and board-level advisory
Extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of corporate and commercial agreements and legal documents, including those related to M&A, Asset Transfer Agreements, and complex innovation agreements
Experience leading legal negotiations and managing contract portfolios in complex cross-border transactions
Strong understanding of legal risk management, business operations, and innovative environments
Fluent in English and Swedish (spoken and written); additional languages (e.g., Chinese or other European languages) are a plus
Preferred Experience:
Background in the automotive, tech, or advanced manufacturing sectors
Legal knowledge in specialized areas such as corporate law, product liability, AI, Data Act and software
Familiarity with public procurement, or ESG/compliance law, intellectual property law, or competition law in Sweden or the EU
