As aSenior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in building and scaling Aspia's modern data platform. You will help enable a more data-driven organization by developing robust data pipelines, supporting advanced analytics, and laying the foundation for future AI and machine learning capabilities.
Role description
As a Senior Data Engineer at Aspia, you will join a small but growing team that is central to the company's data-driven journey. You will work across the full data lifecycle-ingestion, transformation, modeling, and enabling analytics-collaborating with product owners, the Lead Data Engineer, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions. You will also contribute to AI and machine learning initiatives, helping move projects from prototype to production, while supporting knowledge sharing and best practices within the team.
Key responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain data solutions in Microsoft Fabric, including pipelines and notebooks
• Structure, model, and optimize data for analytics, reporting, and decision support
• Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of the data platform
• Support and further develop semantic models and analytical data layers used across the organization
• Implement best practices for version control, code quality, and documentation
• Identify and drive improvements in processes, performance, and functionality of the data platform
• Collaborate closely with product owners, finance teams, developers, and system owners to understand needs and ensure business value
• Contribute to AI and machine learning initiatives, from prototype to production
• Act as a technical advisor and mentor within the team, supporting knowledge sharing and development
• Ensure the data platform meets Aspia's standards for security, scalability, and maintainability
We are looking for someone who has
• 3-5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in an Azure environment
• Relevant technical education in software development, data engineering, or equivalent experience
• Strong skills in PySpark, SparkSQL, SQL, Python, and/or DAX
• Experience with modern data platforms, Lakehouse architecture, and pipelines
• Familiarity with version control and collaboration tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps
• Ability to analyze complex data problems, structure information, and deliver robust solutions
• Self-driven, responsible, and collaborative, with the ability to lead initiatives as well as work closely with colleagues
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken
Preferred experience
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Lakehouse migrations
• Experience in BI, reporting, and semantic models
• Experience with AI/ML projects, from proof of concept to production
• Experience working in small to medium-sized teams in fast-changing environments
• Knowledge of Power BI and DAX for advanced analytics
• Experience managing complex data flows in large organizations
