About the role
We value extensive professional experience and are looking for a senior bookkeeper / accounting consultant. You may have recently retired or chosen to scale back on your working hours. We are seeking someone who wants to work part-time, has solid experience of bookkeeping, and values flexibility and independence in their work.
The role is primarily remote, with a high degree of flexibility in how you structure your working hours. We meet at our office on Strandvägen in Stockholm approximately 1–2 times per month for check-ins and collaboration. If this sounds like you, we could be a very good match.
About SILKA
SILKA is a small, international service company that helps large and well-known brands protect their trademarks online. Our parent company is based in Stockholm, with subsidiaries in New York, London, and Barcelona.
As the company continues to grow, the need for increased structure, follow-up, and coordination of financial flows across the group has grown. Payroll administration, however, will continue to be handled externally.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will have broad and independent responsibility for large parts of the finance function, including:
Bookkeeping, and reports to management
Day-to-day bookkeeping for two entities: the Swedish parent company and one subsidiary with no employees
Monthly follow-ups, quarterly reporting to management, and year-end closing
Establishing and maintaining structure, order and clear routines within the finance function
Supporting expense receipt reporting
External communication
Contact with accountants - primarily responding to their occasional requests for additional documentation and providing clarifications when required.
Invoicing (accounts payable and receivable)
Handling supplier invoices
Issuing customer invoices and following up on payments
Intercompany invoicing between group companies
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
15+ years' experience in bookkeeping and financial reporting
“Auktoriserad Redovisningskonsult FAR”, or equivalent qualifications
Strong skills in:
Excel
Outlook
Written English, for external communication with international customers, suppliers and accountants
Fluent in spoken English or Swedish, for internal communication
Ability to work independently, in a structured manner, and with a high level of responsibility
Personal qualities
Highly detail-oriented and well-structured
Ability to work autonomously
Meriting experience
Experience of working with international companies or clients
Strong general IT skills
Experience with Fortnox and/or QuickBooks
An interest in process improvements is an advantage, but not a requirement
Employment type and scope
Hourly-based employment
Expected workload over time: approximately 8 hours per week
Initially, additional hours may be required to establish processes and routines
