Job Title: Senior Backend Developer

Location: Stockholm or Sundsvall, Sweden

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (minimum 2 days/week in office)

Contract Type: Full-time, 12 months (with possible extensions)

About the Role

We are seeking experienced backend developers to join a team delivering secure and high-quality enterprise solutions. The role focuses on backend system development, ensuring performance, scalability, and security while working in an agile, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Java and modern frameworks.

Implement microservices architecture and support containerized deployments (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift).

Ensure high standards of security in all aspects of system design and implementation.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams following agile practices.

Configure and maintain development tools such as Git, Maven, or Gradle.

Contribute to system monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentorship of junior team members.

Required Skills & Experience

Java development: minimum 5 years of experience

Linux environment: minimum 3 years of experience

Microservices architecture: minimum 3 years of experience

Experience with Quarkus, Spring Boot, or similar frameworks

Knowledge of Git, Maven, Gradle, or similar development tools

Agile team-based development experience (minimum 3 years)

Fluency in English and Swedish (spoken and written)

Preferred Skills

Experience with PKI, certificate management, or cryptographic security

Exposure to frontend/app development

Experience in containerized system operations and monitoring

Knowledge of SAML2, OAuth2, OpenID

Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and caching solutions

Familiarity with message queues such as Kafka

Contribution to open-source projects

Competence Level

Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks

Experience leading small teams or sub-projects

4-8 years of relevant professional experience

Additional Information

Full-time role, 40 hours per week

Security clearance may be required depending on the project

Travel between Stockholm and Sundsvall may be needed for team meetings
