About the Assignment

In this role you will work as a senior automation engineer in multiple software projects, contributing from early specifications and design through implementation, testing, and release. The environment is engineering-driven and includes close collaboration with project management and product/technical stakeholders.

You will also support project activities such as start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting (remotely or on-site depending on needs), and factory acceptance testing when required.

Job DescriptionDeliver automation software in parallel projects according to the project plan and budget set by the Project Manager

Program automation solutions based on specifications and engineering documentation (e.g., SDS, electrical drawings, P&ID, scope of supply)

Perform software testing, updates, and continuous improvements to existing programs

Support start-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting remotely or on-site

Support FAT activities when needed

Provide input to manuals and instructions

Develop new software functionality and features based on your own design

Create and maintain SDS and similar documentation (e.g., FRS/FDS)

Run and participate in software design reviews

Plan, distribute, and follow up software activities in sprints, including breaking down deliverables into sub-tasks

Create software validation plans and strategies

Coordinate software releases with Technical Product Managers or Project Managers

Stay up to date with relevant technologies and tools and introduce improvements when needed

RequirementsAcademic degree in Mechatronics, Embedded Systems / Industrial Automation, or equivalent

Experience in PLC programming using common languages (e.g., STL, LAD, FBD, SCL)

Experience with Siemens S7, Allen Bradley, or B&R control systems and software, or MathWorks products (Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, Embedded Coder)

Knowledge of software development models and methods (S88)

Skilled in software design tools

Fluent written and spoken English
