As aSenior Authorised Person (SAP), you will be responsible for ensuring safety from the electrical system during work on electrical networks. You will carry out switching operations, issue and cancel Safety Documents, and manage the safe operation, isolation, and restoration of systems up to HV level.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform switching operations and apply isolations within authorisation limits.
• Prepare, issue, and cancel Safety Documents (e.g. LVPTW, HVPTW, SFT).
• Write and execute switching schedules safely and efficiently.
• Supervise and mentor APs, CPs, and working parties.
• Liaise with Control Engineers for system release and restoration.
• Lead HV/LV isolations, earthing, and energisation processes.
• Conduct readiness reviews, audits, and toolbox talks.
• Maintain accurate operational records and safety documentation.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in HV and LV electrical networks.
• Formal appointment as a SAP by an Authorising Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of isolation protocols, safety rules, and documentation standards (e.g. EN 50110-1).
• Recognised electrical engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
