Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous research engineer for experimental work in 3D cell culture and microscopy. In this role, you will be responsible for the validation of a newly developed experimental method for 3D cell culture that uses acoustic radiation forces to build spheroids on a microchip. This platform is integrated into a microscope for imaging of live cells and aims to create models of solid tumors for in vitro studies on immune cell - tumor interactions and anti-cancer drug - tumor interactions.
The position is located at the Division of Biophysics at Science for Life Laboratory (Scilifelab) in Solna. This division is part of the Department of Applied Physics at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH).

Qualifications
Requirements
- A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in the research subject or equivalent competence.
- Completed at least 180 credits of a M.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent education in technology and life sciences.
- Ability to work independently in a research laboratory and take responsibility for both practical and administrative tasks.
- Ability to independently plan and conduct experiments, as well as evaluate and report experimental results.
- Good teamwork skills and a service-oriented attitude, as the role requires close collaboration with an interdisciplinary research group.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in independent laboratory work, particularly in method development and microscopy.
- Experience working in research-oriented laboratories with advanced biomolecular and cellular analyses.
- Experience in cell culture, preferably with primary cells.
- Experience in microfluidics and/or acoustofluidics.
- Professional skill and subject expertise in the biosciences field are highly desirable
- Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
