Who are we?
At Bright Materia, we have a new Lignin production process utilizing waste biomass from forestry, agriculture, and biomass sources to produce a high-quality material able to replace fossil based materials in a wide range of applications, from UV protection to Batteries, paint and plastics.
Why is this important?
Our high quality lignin can be used in Skincare products in the cosmetics industry to the manufacturing of batteries to construction materials. The need for high-quality sustainable lignin is increasing across the globe. So, our offering of a sustainable, high-quality material will disrupt the market and accelerate the green transition.
What have we achieved?
Our solution is based on years of research from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and we have filed three distinct patents for our material production processes. We have shown the scalability going from lab-scale to small pilot scale.
We are a part of the largest Nordic startup accelerator at Sting in Stockholm and have recently closed an investment round with VOYAGERS Climate-Tech Fund, KTH Holding, and Vinnova with ongoing grand and soft funding extending our runway towards commercialization.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Process Engineer with experience from the process industry to join us, we are based in Stockholm, Sweden and the role will be based here. Swedish is a prequisite, but we will accept if you are still a beginner. The role is very hands on now in the beginning, building and running our step 2 pilot-plant, but includes development of our process, further simulation and analysis, designing and scaling. You will also take part in experimental work related to the process. The role begins as a part-time position at around 50%, with the potential to expand as the company grows. Your Salary will be modest, but as a member of a small team stock options and ownership will be part of the renumeration package.

- Experience in upscaling processes
- Hands-on practical experience in building and operating processes equipment
