About the opportunity

You will join the Data Factory department, we add value by delivering data driven solutions in Nordea. We are a team with talented and experienced data experts and data engineers.

We are on a mission of harmonizing data for various business, legal and regulatory use cases across the bank, while covering the different Data Management disciplines.

We are now looking for a lead to remediate the Data Risk of the bank, with a focus on implementing a harmonization of the data flows from the sources to risk reports, including implementing the data governance and data quality requirements.

You will be responsible for this large project on behalf of the head of the Data Factory department and be a member of the management team. You will be supported by experienced project managers, leaders and data experts, while expected to be a self-starter with high standards and a bias towards action. Delivery requires close collaboration with teams across the Group.

What you’ll be doing

Main responsibilities in this role:

  • Project Coordination: key contributor and provide special support to a high-impact, Group-wide programmes, involving working closely with stakeholders across the Group.
  • Secure value creation: Seek new ways to enhance the value creation of our programme and ensure that the strategy is leading to execution and measurable results.
  • Advisory: Help decision-makers in understanding consequences of decisions.
  • Collaboration: Interact with internal stakeholders to facilitate the management of the programme.
  • Reporting and communication: Participate in relevant business, project, change and risk management activities to ensure that knowledge is shared, and risks are adequately managed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements in programme management processes, ensuring efficient collaboration between Agile and Waterfall teams.

In addition, you will step into a key role thereby helping in the resolution of issues by working closely with different stakeholders across Nordea. This is where your track record, energy and willingness to make an impact is needed to contribute and support experts and managers to ensure a solid and strategic risk management perspective, which will directly impact on the financial performance, efficiency, competitiveness and overall success of Nordea.

You will be leading this large initiative in the Data Factory team in a matrix set-up. This role does not have a line manager responsibility.

Who you are

You are an experienced professional joining us as our new Strategic Partner/project lead. You have a proven track record in large programmes, understands risk management and likes to challenge oneself in a highly paced and complex environment. You might have experience in working with data risk and might be familiar with the BCBS 239 principles, etc. You are passionate about working in an ever-changing environment. Ideally you have experience in projects with regulatory deliveries and attention.

  • Have superior analytical skills and the ability to apply them to risk.
  • Can manage strategic assignments to help implement the execution plans.
  • Have excellent networking, collaboration and communication skills to provide partnership while aligning and cooperating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Can manage and support the management of larger and complex projects.
  • Can work independently, conduct analysis and assessments and draft proposals based on these.
  • Have good knowledge of business operational and compliance risk tools.
  • Have experience with infrastructure and change initiatives in legacy-based IT-environments.
  • Are proactive, able to manage multiple tasks, and execution-oriented.
  • Are well organized with a structured approach that makes it easy to co-operate with. 
  • Contribute to a great team performance.

Your background and skills include:

  • Master’s degree.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in the Data Management domain with exposure to at least the following disciplines Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Engineering, Data Modelling & Design, Reference & Master data and Metadata.
  • Understanding of the banks industry’s operations and how data drives those operations.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and practices (SAFe Agile & Waterfall)
  • Written and spoken English on a superior level is required.
