Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Medical Affairs professional to join our Scandinavian Immunology Organization as Medical Advisor Rheumatology in Sweden. In this role, you'll shape and execute medical strategies that advance our rheumatology therapeutic area and drive the delivery of innovative treatments to people living with rheumatic diseases.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement medical strategies and tactics for our Rheumatology portfolio in line with AbbVie's priorities.
- Build and maintain relationships with experts, academic centers and other healthcare professionals.
- Serve as scientific and medical expert in rheumatology to internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead evidence generation by identifying evidence gaps and initiating, driving and/or supporting clinical trials and medical projects (internal and external collaborations). e.g., Phase IV, RWE, observational and registry studies.
- Provide medical insights and input to cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, regulatory, market access and clinical development.
- Review promotional materials and scientific communications to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards and internal guidelines.
- Develop and deliver scientific presentations and medical education at meetings, conferences, and symposia and arrange advisory groups.
- Stay current with scientific literature, emerging trends, and the competitive landscape in immunology with focus on rheumatology.
Qualifications
We are seeking individuals who have:
- An advanced degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or Life Sciences (MD, PharmD, PhD) or equivalent.
- Minimum 3+ years in Medical Affairs (e.g. MSL, Medical Advisor, Medical Manager).
- Expertise in Rheumatology or Immunology therapeutic area is a strong advantage.
- Experience working within the Swedish healthcare, regulatory and business environment. Having worked across borders within Scandinavia is an advantage.
- Experience in leading or participating in partnership projects with healthcare sector is an advantage.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships and clearly and inspiringly communicate complex medical/scientific concepts to internal and key external stakeholders.
- Proven leadership in cross-functional settings, integrating medical insights into business strategy.
- Ability to navigate organizational structure and comply with internal processes and governance.
- Strategic thinker with impact-focused and results-driven mindset, with a proven track record of developing and implementing medical strategies.
- Understanding of clinical trial methodology and regulatory requirements; experience in protocol development and evidence generation is an advantage.
- Strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to digital platforms and internal systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time, nationally on a regular basis and internationally as needed is expected.
- Fluency (written, oral) in English and Swedish language is required.
