VNT-001 AB
Mechanical Engineer DFM / Product Development (Remote)
Om jobbet
Company contextVNT-001 AB is a Sweden-based operating company that builds and owns multiple brands across biotech/public-health products (institutional/B2B) and consumer health (supplements). The company runs a shared internal team and shared infrastructure across brands including manufacturing, packaging, regulatory coordination, logistics, and go-to-market execution. One biotech/public-health platform has fulfilled a ~$6M U.S. state-level contract for large-scale distribution of a public-health testing product. All work is internal and there is no client or agency work.
Short role summary
You will execute mechanical development for a second-generation physical product used in public-health environments. The focus is practical engineering including fewer parts, better reliability, cleaner assembly, and manufacturability at scale.
Key responsibilities
Design and iterate mechanical components and assemblies for a field-use physical product
Drive DFM and DFA decisions including part consolidation, tolerance strategy, and assembly simplification
Own prototype cycles with rapid iterations early and controlled builds as the design locks
Build and run testing including fixtures, protocols, reliability checks, failure analysis, and corrective actions
Coordinate with tooling vendors and contract manufacturers to move from prototype to production
Maintain disciplined documentation including drawings, BOMs, revisions, and change history
Required skills / experience
Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience with 3+ years of product development work
Strong CAD capability and production drawing discipline with manufacturing-ready outputs
Experience with manufacturing processes such as plastics, die-cutting, bonding, and assembly
Proven ability to take designs from prototype to production within constraints
Comfort operating in regulated contexts where documentation and change control are required
Practical mindset where solutions must work on a factory floor and in real-world use conditions
Ideal candidate profile
You design with constraints in mind including cost, assembly steps, tolerances, failure modes, and supply risk. You can own a subsystem end-to-end and stay calm under iteration pressure.
Why the role is different / impact
This is not abstract R&D. You are improving a platform already proven in institutional workflows where your decisions directly impact reliability, cost, and scale.
Location / structure
Project-based contract
Remote-friendly with supplier and manufacturing engagement
Travel may be required for builds, tooling, or manufacturing ramp support
